From Lunatic Asylum to the Old Bailey: What did your ancestors really get up to?

This talk will focus on sources that can be used to put flesh on the bones of our ancestors, highlighting clues that might point towards unusual records and other images.

Beginners and intermediate researchers will find much that is new, while experienced researchers might also find fresh ideas and enjoy the journey and the telling of the tales.

About the speaker: Hilary Blanford is the Chairman of East Surrey FHS and of the P-rr-tt Society and has been hosting talks on Zoom for both East Surrey and Kent FHS for the past year. She became hooked on family history around the age of 15, and when work stopped getting in the way she began her research in earnest, exploring record offices and having fun all the while.
