Walk: Charming Chiswick

Description

One of London's riverside villages, Chiswick has much to offer. With Blue Badge Guide, Diane Burstein, we'll view the home of a famous 18th century artist, a delightful village church, a Palladian mansion , two breweries and the house which inspired Thackeray to write "Vanity Fair".  

There's also a chance to discover London's first Garden Suburb. 

Duration: Please allow at least 60 minutes for this walk.

Meeting place: Turnham Green Station. Where we finish is approx. 20 minutes walk back to the station or you can catch a bus back to Turnham Green or on to Richmond from near where we finish.

About the walk leader: Diane Burstein is a native Londoner, who is one of London’s best known and most versatile tour guides. She has made a name for herself with her Secret London feature on  talk radio station LBC 97.3 FM and now makes regular contributions to BBC London 94.9’s Saturday Breakfast Shows.  

She is the author of a successful book "London Then and Now" which featured in BBC History magazine's Top Ten Best Seller.As a Further Education Lecturer, Diane teaches “Discovering London” courses for two Adult Education Colleges. 

Diane holds the prestigious London Blue Badge and has a BA Honours Degree in English Literature and History.
