The Thrill of the Chase - Reflections of a Family Historian

This is not a ‘how to do it’ talk on Family History. It starts with a brief reminder that many different civilisations from ancient times onwards have valued genealogy. We then consider the how the family history scene has changed over the last few decades and show what a wealth of resources are  available to us. None of them were designed for our use and some of those we most rely on were nearly destroyed.

And to justify the ‘thrill of the chase’ in the title we will go into some case studies which demonstrate just how tantalising, satisfying and infuriating family history can be.
