Graeme Edwards introduces us to the history of the Somerset Archives service. The Somerset Archives and Heritage Centre holds records from the 8th century to the present day. Graeme describes the main groups of records that the Archive holds. These include church records, the records of the very rich, the records of the very poor, and local and house history.
Graeme explains how they list and look after the archives and briefly summarises the other services they provide.
